If the Bible had an action movie, it’s the Gospel of Mark. Mark wrote this Gospel under the direction of Peter and it makes sense because Peter was an action guy. He wildly declared his love for Jesus, cut off someone’s ear, passionately denied Jesus 3 times and is restored in one of the most beautiful moments in the New Testament.

This fall we will walk chapter by chapter through this Gospel. We’ll discover who Jesus is, His great mission and what it means to follow Him. Mark presents an action-filled servant King, fully divine, yet willing to suffer, serve, and sacrifice Himself for humanity. As we study each chapter, we will witness Jesus’ authority over sickness, sin, nature, demons, and death. We will hear His teachings, observe His compassion, and learn from His interactions with both faithful followers and skeptical opponents.

Mark continually asks a crucial question: “Who do you say Jesus is?” The answer to that question shapes every aspect of our faith and discipleship. And like Peter, so many of us have come to the conclusion, “Lord, where else can we go?” Whether you are new to Scripture or have studied Mark before, our fall together will deepen your understanding of Christ, and like Peter, call you at an action-filled life in following Jesus.
